Cancellations & Refunds

Tuition Refunds

For cancellations prior to June 1, 2018, the total registration deposit, less a $50 processing fee, is refundable. For cancellations after June 1, 2018, the $100 Registration Deposit is forfeited. If cancellations occur within 3 weeks prior to session start date, the entire tuition, including deposit, will be forfeited except for cancellations due to medical reasons verified by the attending physician.

Medical Refunds

Medical cancellations must be verified within 30 days of cancellation to receive full refund (less the $100 deposit). After 30 days, only half tuition (less the $100 deposit) will be refunded.

Program Cancellation

Where health and safety are at issue, at the discretion of the Camp Director, programs and activities may be cancelled or postponed at any time due to inclement weather or other unanticipated circumstances of a serious matter as they arise with no refund provided.

Camper Dismissal and Withdrawal

The Camp Director reserves the right to dismiss any camper whose behavior affects his/her ability to participate or is detrimental to the members of the camp. No refund will be made for absences, dismissals or withdrawals before the end of the session. In cases of withdrawal during camp based on medical reasons verified by the attending physician within 30 days of withdrawal, remaining tuition may be refunded less the $100 deposit. There will be a $25 fee for all returned checks.

Roommate Request Policy

Campers are assigned to dormitories by gender and huddle group assignment. Room assignments are two campers per room and campers must be within one year or one grade apart. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Roommates will be assigned to the same Huddle Group; therefore, we ask that you do not request huddles. Camp is great way to meet new friends and make lifelong memories! Roommate requests are NOT GUARANTEED UNLESS both both applicants are registered and request each other.

Do NOT request more than one roommate. If a camper’s roommate cancels for any reason, a roommate will be assigned from our wait list. Due to fairness, we do not allow registered campers to choose a new, unregistered camper for a roommate unless there are no age appropriate campers on the waiting list.

Communicating With Your Camper

The best way to communicate with your child during their time at camp is through the mail.  Letters and packages from home are distributed once daily.  Please limit the size of “care packages” to approximately the size of a shoebox.  Limiting “care packages” to one a week is greatly appreciated.  We ask that you do not send balloons or flowers to your camper. All mail must be addressed:

Camper Name
Monmouth College All-Sports Camp
700 East Broadway
Monmouth, IL 61462

Other Communication

Campers do not have access to outgoing email or fax while at camp.

Campers are not allowed to make outgoing phone calls or to receive phone calls. In the event of an emergency, parents will be called by the Camp Director.

Emergency calls to campers will be handled through the Camp Office and campers will be contacted in a timely manner.

PLEASE do not send a cell phone with your child. Cell phones are detrimental to the camper’s adjustment and very disruptive to the camp in general. Any cell phones in the possession of campers will be held by their counselor until the end of camp.

Paddle Ceremony: Thursday | July 26, 2018 @ 7:30 p.m.

Wallace-Hall-500The Paddle Ceremony celebrates each camper’s success in earning the brands the campers selected to focus on at the beginning of the week. The brands, Mercy, Christianity, Perseverance, Attitude, Dedication, Discipline, Loyalty, and Enthusiasm, symbolize the characteristics of Christianity and sportsmanship to form the M-C-P-A-D-D-L-E.

During the ceremony campers are introduced huddle by huddle.  Their names are read with the brand they earned.  This is the time campers are recognized for all their hard work during camp.  The Paddle Ceremony is held on Wallace Hall Plaza and Dunlap Terrace, beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night of camp.  Parents are encouraged to join.  There is usually a large turnout for this event.
